It’s an easy drive from Cane Creek to Saxapahaw!  The word is getting out about this up-and-coming little spot on the Haw River.  Saxapahaw is a historic mill village on the Haw River that is getting lots of attention these days.  A major remodeling of the old mill is underway and will result in a gourmet restaurant, a great coffeehouse and pub.  Each Saturday evening from May to the end of August, “Saturdays at Saxapahaw” features a Farmers Market with many local farmers and vendors, and live music from a variety of performers.  You’ll find a huge gathering of folks relaxing on the hillside listening to the music, enjoying a picnic, a bottle of wine, or some fresh cuisine from the Saxapahaw General Store, an acclaimed eatery that’s been getting some great reviews.  (Check out www.saxgenstore.com and Sax General Store Review)  With its beautiful location on the Haw River, and with all that this little village has to offer, Saxapahaw is becoming a true gathering place – and a place some would like to live near!  Our Cane Creek neighborhood is less than five minutes from the heart of Saxapahaw.
